Hackers used AI agents to spy on thousands of companies

ConnectWise is a big IT company with thousands of business customers. It was breached, and the attackers then spied on many of those customers.

Microsoft blames a China-aligned hacker. The key detail: the attacker relied on AI agents to break into thousands of ConnectWise customers very fast. One break-in at the top became a door into many companies at once.

This comes one day after the PHP2Shell bug, where attackers got a four-day head start. The AI Daily Brief podcast calls it "AI vs AI": attackers and defenders now fight at machine speed. We still do not know the full list of victims.

Why it matters

This is not a lab demo anymore. AI agents are now a real weapon, and they make one breach much bigger, much faster. Most businesses are not ready to defend at that speed.
