Hacking gets cheaper: $50 per website and a hacked iPhone

Security keeps coming back in AI news. A new report shared on Reddit says one attacker used AI agents to break into more than 100 companies. The cost was about $50 per website, with under 23 hours per attack. Most targets were online shops, and the goal was access to payment systems. This is a reported figure, not yet confirmed by many sources.

On Hacker News, a security team's post "Today, we hacked what we'd set out to hack: the iPhone" got 885 points. Our sources do not say how much AI played a role. The Transformer newsletter also covers a PHP flaw under the title "The cyberpocalypse is here, sort of".

The big idea: small businesses used to be safe because attacking them was not worth the work. AI agents make that work cheap.

Why it matters

If attacks cost $50, every small shop is now a target. Basic security, updates and strong passwords matter more than ever.
